Santa Claus, Cupid & Florence Nightingale were at our house on Christmas day!
The holidays were great! Mark and I had planned to play Cupid on Christmas Day. I may have mentioned in a previous entry that my Mark is a driver/trainer.The gentleman he is training (Bill) is from Wisconsin. Unless they schedule vacation around Christmas they don't get it off, but his company tries to give each driver a run that has a pass through at their home town so that they can spend Christmas day with their families. That pretty much negated Bill's ability to go home because he's basically on Mark's schedule and Mark would be passing through the Dallas/Ft. Worth area so we could spend Christmas together.
Most of the trainees he's had in the past 16 months have been from Texas or Louisiana...so it's not hard for those folks to get home for a short period of time. But Wisconsin, well that's another story. Although I'd promised Mark a quiet Christmas since we had lots of guests for Thanksgiving, I really couldn't bear the though of Bill being either in a hotel or on the truck for Christmas. So I asked Mark if he couldn't spend Christmas with us. After having talked to him (via passing messages back and forth through Mark during our phone conversations), I was looking forward to meeting Bill (and I was looking forward to the grass hopper mixed drinks he promised to make for us).
Besides after hearing so much about my Mark and meeting him at Thanksgiving, my housekeeper (Susan) told us she'd like to meet someone nice. So when we decided to invite Bill to spend Christmas with us, we decided to invite Susan for Christmas dinner so they could meet!
